Our Home Visiting Service
Many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during those early years when children are young.
There is no rule book for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if your family is going through difficult times.
If you can get the support you need when you need it, then day to day family life and your children’s future can be so much brighter.
Home-Start offers a weekly visit from a trained and supervised volunteer.
Home-Start volunteers help families facing isolation, disability or mental health issues, bereavement, multiple births, financial difficulties, or who may simply be finding parenting a challenge.
After meeting with you to discuss how we might be able to help, Home-Start will introduce you to a trained and supervised volunteer.
The help we give each family is unique and depends entirely on circumstances, requirements and what they want help with.
All of our Volunteers are:
- DBS checked
- Fully trained
- Experienced in the many issues facing families who need support
- Genuinely lovely people!
Families might need someone to talk to who won’t judge them.
A shoulder to cry on or perhaps someone to play with or read to the children; support to make or keep medical appointments or find out what else is available locally.
You don’t have to pay for Home-Start’s help and it’s confidential.
If you think you would like the support of a Home-Start volunteer, and you have at least one child under five, then call us on 01892 524916 or email [email protected]
