Get Support for Your Family
We provide friendship and support to over 100 local families a year.
Every family is different and parents can find things difficult for many reasons. But there’s no need to struggle alone.
If you live in the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge or Malling area, Edenbridge or Sevenoaks and have at least one child under five we may be able to help – just give us a call.
How to contact us for support
We have a great team of trained volunteers who can visit you at home.
Before we can match you with a home-visiting service volunteer you need to make contact with the Home-Start team.
What questions will you ask me?
We will ask you about where you live, the ages of your children (and if you are or think you may be pregnant), and about any health issues. We will also ask you about what kind of difficulties you are facing, and the kind of support which you feel might be helpful. We do have to ask you about whether you feel safe at home, and whether there are safety considerations for volunteers who may visit you.
How do I know you will keep my details private?
Home-Start South West Kent is fully compliant with the Data Protection Act, and the new GDPR regulations. You can read a copy of the Privacy Policy which our volunteers are bound to comply with here. We want to support and protect the families we work with, and we never discuss anything you tell us with your friends, neighbours or extended family.
What will happen when I’ve given you my details?
Once we receive your details we will get in touch with you, usually by phone, and arrange to come and see you to tell you more about Home-Start and to discuss how we might be able to help.
How long will I have to wait to get support?
This will depend on availability of volunteers, but we aim to come and see you within three weeks of receiving your referral and to introduce you to a volunteer within two months. We will keep in touch with you during this time.
